Herbal Honey
Introducing our herbal honey formulas, Gut Flora Food is designed to nourish your microbiome and promote digestive health. The inulin in the formula supports the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, while the combination of other herbals in this blend soothes and supports the gut lining while enhancing overall gut function. Continual use over time will progressively improve digestive function while promoting regularity.
*Burdock—Known for its inulin content, Burdock root serves as a prebiotic, providing nourishment for beneficial gut bacteria. Supporting the growth of healthy gut flora increases digestive function. Burdock also has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the gut lining and mitigate gut discomfort.
*Citrus Peel—Citrus zest is full of antioxidants and flavonoids. Offering mild astringent properties, citrus adds tone to the gut tissues and helps to support overall gut function. The Vitamin C content further aids in enhancing our resilience. Plus, citrus adds a delightful taste to the formula.
*Marshmallow—With its naturally soothing and moistening properties, Marshmallow coats and protects the lining of the gut, alleviating irritation and discomfort while promoting healing. It maintains moisture in the digestive system, promotes regularity, and eases digestive disturbances.
*Shatavari —Helps to balance the digestive fire (Agni) and promotes gut health by supporting overall vitality and resilience in times of stress.
*Rosehips—Known for being a powerful source of vitamin C and antioxidants, Rosehips support immune health while also contributing to digestive tone and promoting healing of the gut lining. They are also a delightful flavor addition to this blend.
*Rose petals —Known for their astringency and tone (mainly in the cosmetic industry), Roses add the same benefit to the mucous membranes of the digestive tract. They aid digestion and harmony in the digestive process while adding a delicate flavor to the blend.
*Fennel seeds — Traditionally known for their carminative properties, which help support gas and bloating while promoting more comfortable and efficient digestion. They also gently warm the blend through their aromatic qualities and sweet flavor.
*Cinnamon — A warming and soothing spice traditionally known for its ability to promote circulation to the digestive organs. Cinnamon can support the process of blood sugar regulation and enhance digestion by stimulating the release of digestive enzymes. The warming circulatory component can bring more blood flow to the digestive system, aiding the assimilation of nutrients from food.
Honey pastes utilize 1 ounce of whole powdered herbs distributed in honey, a traditional way of working with the plants, learned from my teachers. Utilizing the entire herb instead of extracting it in tea or tincture provides the full range of bioavailable plant constituents. This is one of the most potent ways to consume herbs.
Note: since this is raw honey, it is natural for it to crystallize over time.
