Vitex is traditionally used to support female hormonal cycles. It promotes the body's own progesterone production and supports the regulation of menses. Unlike phytoestrogenic herbs, vitex works through the pituitary-ovarian axis rather than direct hormone receptor binding. This makes it safer but slower-acting. Vitex is most helpful when taken long-term, at least three to six months consistently.
