Yarrow is most prized for supporting major and minor wounds as a hemostatic and vulnerary, sometimes called the wounded healer's plant. Traditionally used to support gastrointestinal upsets, diarrhea, joint inflammation, and allergic reactions. Supports breaking a fever, cold/flu symptoms, and wound healing both internally & externally. In herbal traditions, yarrow is known as an “amphoteric” herb, meaning it can help the body achieve a state of balance by working in seemingly contradictory ways—cooling and warming, bitter and aromatic. In Matthew Woods's words, "these contradictory but complementary properties" allow yarrow to help normalize fluid movement in the body, most notably the fluid of blood.
